Cutroom is a video editor you run on your own computer. By using it, or by signing in to an account, you agree to these terms.
Using Cutroom
- Cutroom is free to download and use. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use it on your own computers.
- Don't copy, resell or redistribute it, don't reverse engineer it except where the law says you may, and don't use it to break the law or to harm others.
- Parts of Cutroom are made by others and have their own licenses. A list ships with the app.
Your videos and what you make
- Your footage and projects are yours. Cutroom doesn't receive them and claims no rights in them or in what you export.
- You're responsible for having the rights to what you edit, including footage, music, sounds and images you bring in or the agent finds for you, and for what you publish.
- An AI agent makes the edits. It can be wrong. Look at the result before you post it.
Your AI accounts and other services
Cutroom works with the agent you sign in to (Claude Code or Codex) and, if you add them, other services with your own keys. Those are their companies' services, under their terms, and you must follow them. Cutroom isn't made or endorsed by Anthropic or OpenAI.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used it.
- We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You can stop using Cutroom, and ask us to delete your account, at any time.
Updates and changes
Cutroom updates itself when you allow it. We may change, add or remove features, and change these terms; if we change them in a way that matters, the date above changes and we'll say so in the app or on this site.
No warranty, and limits on our liability
Cutroom is provided as it is, without promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Back up your work. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for lost files, lost income, or indirect or consequential harm from using Cutroom, and our total liability for anything is limited to what you've paid us in the last twelve months (for the free app, nothing).
